To sleep, to dream.

When I first started this I was not getting a lot of sleep. I think that was a primary driving force behind the illustration, but I don't think I knew that at the time. Now that my son is sleeping better again at night I can think clearly again. I do love to sleep. The idea of closing your eyes peacefully surrounded by the sweetest little forest creatures is well, in a word, dreamy. Wear a pretty dress, pat a fluffy white bunny, cuddle with a fawn; does it get much better? There's a hit of Marie Antionette in there for good measure too.

Let's Go!

So I'm finally adding my new work to my blog...but I don't think anyone has noticed my absence, so no harm done! I started this one right around the time my little niece Dahlia was born - it was funny because I think she was in the back of my mind as I was drawing it, but then low and behold, it actually kind of looks like her - over a year and half later! I finished it recently by doing the color on it, and I am pleased with the remarkable similiarities, including most importantly, the faux-hawk hair pile in the middle that is so trademark Dahlia. The print is hanging in her room right now.

If only there were mushrooms so large you could use them as chairs.

Here's a new one. I was a little uneasy when I finished this because it appears slightly so by the way they are looking at eachother that the bear and the little girl are in love. That wouldn't be good. I'd like to think instead that they are both just happy to have a friend. I know I would like to have a bear friend that wears a vest.
